Pellicle beamsplitters are typically used in high-end applications requiring zero dispersion. They are made by stretching a thin polymer membrane over a flat metal frame. This extreme thiness eliminates virtually all secondary reflections. Ghost reflections are hence non-existant. They can be used over multiple wavelengths, making them extremely versatile for all applications. Care must be taken when handling these pellicle beamsplitters as they are fragile and can be easily punctured. For lasting protection, all our pellicle beamsplitters come supplied in a protective holder.
